Afghanistan Conflict And India

Year 2016, Volume: 8 Issue: 3, 10 - 16, 31.07.2016

Abstract

Between the year 1979, when afghanistan was invaded by Soviet Union, and the year 2001, when USA started military operation in order to overthrow the Taliban regime, Afghanistan remained under constant instability, and area of strugle between global and regional powers. India did not remain nonreactive to the conflict close to itself either. This study deals with the foreign policy of India towards Afghanistan according to the different stages of the conflict. In this respect, it is put forward that the anti-Pakistan stance, which is one of the main motivators of India’s foreign policy, directs its policy towards Afganistan, aim to form a secular or at least a moderate regime.

Afganistan İhtilafı ve Hindistan

Year 2016, Volume: 8 Issue: 3, 10 - 16, 31.07.2016
