ÇEVRE BİLİNCİ DÜZEYİNİ BELİRLEMEYE YÖNELİK UYGULAMALI BİR ÇALIŞMA: MERZİFON MESLEK YÜKSEKOKULU ÖRNEĞİ

If we accept that one of the biggest reasons of rapidly increasing environmental problem is the human factor and that environment is rapidly deteriorating by people , the viewpoint that increasing number of environmentally conscious individuals will increase the sensitivity to the environmental problems and also this sensitivity will help to decrease environmental problems will be acceptable. It is underiably true that the increasing number of environmentally conscious individuals and the primarily reflection of acquired knowledge by these individuals to their own attitudes and behaviors will contribute to the degrees of acceptability and will create role models impact on other individuals. Cultural values and education are among the main factors in the transmission of knowledge from generation to generation and upbringing of environmentally conscious individuals in this context.The aim of this study is to expose the levels of the environmental consciousness of the students and employee of Merzifon Vocational School and to make recommendations for he improvement of the environmental sensitivity in this regard. The sample of study consists of total 109 ( nine hundred) persons including 40 (forty) 1st grader and 46 (fourty-six) 2nd grader studying in the academic years 2014-2015 in Amasya University Merzifon Vocational School and 10(ten) academic staff with 13(thirteen) other employees. Environmental consciousness questionnaire(Erten, 2005) was used to collect research data. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 software package application. The findings were interpreted using the frequency and correlation analysis method.Therefore, the much share will fall to educators in the realization of awareness through training and education. The quality of the environment which will be left to future generations will change in paralel with the quality of educators’ environmental conscious.

Hızla artan çevre sorunlarının en büyük nedenlerinden birinin insan faktörü olduğunu, çevrenin insan eliyle hızla bozulduğunu kabul edersek, -çevre bilinçli birey- sayısının artırılmasının çevre sorunlarına olan duyarlılığı arttıracağı, bu duyarlılığın da çevre sorunlarının büyük ölçüde azalmasına yardımcı olacağı kabul edilebilir bir bakış açısı olacaktır. Çevre bilinçli bireylerin sayısal artışı ile birlikte, bu bireylerin, edinmiş oldukları bilgilerini öncelikle kendi tutum ve davranışlarına yansıtmalarının kabul edilebilirlik derecelerine katkı sağlayacağı ve diğer bireyler üzerinde rol-model etkisi oluşturacağı yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bilginin nesilden nesile iletilmesinde ve bu bağlamda çevre bilinçli bireylerin yetiştirilmesinde kültürel değerler ve eğitim baş faktörler arasındadır. Bu nedenledir ki bilinçlenmenin eğitim ve öğretim yoluyla gerçekleştirilmesinde eğitimcilere fazlaca pay düşecek, gelecek nesillere bırakılacak çevrenin kalitesi, eğitimcilerin çevre bilincinin kalitesine paralel olarak değişecektir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Merzifon Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencileri ve çalışanlarının çevre bilinci düzeylerini ortaya koymak ve bu anlamda çevre duyarlığının artırılmasına yönelik önerilerde bulunmaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2014-2015 öğrenim yılında Amasya Üniversitesi Merzifon Meslek Yüksekokulu´nda öğrenim gören 40 (kırk) 1. sınıf öğrencisi, 46 (kırk altı) 2. sınıf öğrencisi ile 10 (on) akademik personel ve 13 (on üç) diğer çalışanlar olmak üzere toplam 109 (yüz dokuz) kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerini toplamak için çevre bilinci anketi (Erten, 2005) kullanılmıştır. Anket uygulaması sonucunda elde edilen veriler, SPSS 15.0 paket programında analiz edilmiş, elde edilen bulgular frekans ve korelasyon analizi yöntemiyle yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır.
