Destination Wedding in Turkey

Öz

The concept known recently as "wedding tourism" or "destination weddings"; is possible to express it as a marriage of couples and a ceremony that take place outside of where they live, together with their families and guests, and especially in another country. Couples, travelling to a destination with their families and guests for the wedding organization, are also in the field of interest of the tourism industry due to the inter-country mobility they create. Therefore, "destination weddings", which are seen as a sub-branch of event tourism, are seen as a new and large market segment for almost every country in the tourism market. In this context the purpose of the study is to analyze the current status of the wedding tourism in Turkey as a prominence wedding destinations in the world, via viewpoint of professional wedding planners. In this context, said the purpose of the study, suggesting that the destination wedding market in Turkey a destination "wedding tourism" the current status of the case is put forward through the viewpoint of a professional wedding planner. At this point, document analysis and interview techniques from qualitative methods were used as research methods. When the findings obtained from the researches conducted within the scope of the study are evaluated in general; Turkey's wedding tourism is mainly Middle Eastern countries the market, at this point in particular by the emergence of India, the wedding of the overall planned in the form of packets three-day tourism of the said organization "luxury tourism market" segment takes place in that, and the growing trend for future years Results have been obtained regarding that it is a type of tourism that can continue rapidly.

Öz

Son zamanlarda “düğün turizmi” ya da “destinasyon düğünleri” olarak bilinen kavramı; çiftlerin yaşamlarını sürdürdükleri yerin dışında, aileleri ve misafirleri ile birlikte ve özellikle başka bir ülkede gerçekleştirdikleri evlilik töreni olarak ifade etmek mümkündür. Söz konusu organizasyon için aileleri ve misafirleri ile birlikte hareket eden çiftler, meydana getirdikleri ülkeler arası hareketlilik nedeniyle turizm endüstrisinin ilgi alanına girmektedir. Dolayısıyla etkinlik turizminin bir alt dalı olarak görülen “destinasyon düğünleri”, turizm pazarında yer alan hemen hemen her ülke açısından yeni ve büyük bir pazar bölümü olarak görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda söz konusu çalışmanın amacı, destinasyon düğünleri pazarında öne çıkan bir destinasyon olan Türkiye’de “düğün turizmi” olgusunun mevcut durumunu, profesyonel düğün planlamacılarının bakış açıları üzerinden ortaya koymaktır. Bu noktada araştırma yöntemi olarak nitel yöntemlerden doküman analizi ve görüşme teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında yapılan araştırmalardan elde edilen bulgular genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde; Türkiye’nin düğün turizmi pazarının ağırlıklı olarak Orta Doğu ülkeleri olduğu, bu noktada özellikle Hindistan’ın öne çıktığı, düğün organizasyonlarının genel olarak üç günlük paketler şeklinde planlandığı, söz konusu organizasyonların turizmin “lüks turizm pazarı” bölümünde yer aldığı ve gelecek yıllar açısından büyüme eğilimini hızlı bir şekilde devam ettirebilecek özellikte bir turizm çeşidi olduğuna ilişkin sonuçlar elde edilmiştir.
