İŞÇİLERDE FİNANSAL OKURYAZARLIK: FİNANSAL BİLGİ, TUTUM VE DAVRANIŞ EKSENLİ BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Bireyler gerek gündelik yaşamda
gerekse uzun dönemli planlarda ev
bütçesi, çocuklarının eğitim masrafları,
yatırımları ve emekliliklerini planlamaya
kadar finansal kararlar almaktadırlar. Bu
kararların alınabilmesi için belirli bir
bilgi düzeyine ve erişime sahip olunması
gerekmektedir. Bu bağlamda finansal
okuryazarlık bireylerin, basit ekonomik
hesaplamaları yapabilmesinden, finans
bütçesini yönetebilmesine, sermaye
piyasasına katılımından bireysel emeklilik
planlarına kadar finansal kararlarını vermede
etkili olmaktadır. Bu araştırmada da çalışan
kesimin önemli bir kısmını oluşturan
işçilerin finansal okuryzarlık düzeyleri
araştırılmıştır. 298 işçi üzerinde yürütülen
anket çalışması sonucunda işçilerin,
günlük iş ve işlemleri açısından finansal
okuryazarlık düzeylerinin nisbeten yüksek
olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla
birlikte işçilerin tasarruf eğilimlerine
doğrudan katkı yapacak gelecekle ilgili
planlamalar noktasında yetersiz bir bilgi,
tutum ve davranış düzeyine sahip oldukları
yönünde bulgular elde edilmiştir.
