Yükseköğretimde Uzaktan Eğitim Sürecinde Olumlu Sınıf Kültürü Yaratılmasına Yönelik Nitel Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, çevrimiçi öğretim uygulamalarını kullanarak derslerini çevrimiçi sınıflarda yürüten öğretim elemanlarının çevrimiçi ortamda olumlu sınıf kültürü yaratılmasına ilişkin görüşlerini alarak değerlendirme yapmak ve uygulayıcılar için öneriler geliştirmektir. Araştırma, nitel araştırma modellerinden durum çalışmasıyla desenlenmiştir. Çalışma grubu, bilgi açısından zengin olduğu düşünülen kişilerin seçilmesi ve derinlemesine araştırılmasına olanak sağlayan amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yoluyla belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde bulunan özel bir üniversitede görev yapan 12 öğretim elemanından oluşturulmuştur. Veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla yapılan yüz yüze görüşmeler ile toplanmıştır. 309 dakika 23 saniyelik ses kaydı analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde Nvivo R1 orijinal programı kullanılmış ve tematik kodlama yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular incelendiğinde öğretim elemanlarının çevrimiçi öğretim ortamlarını gerçek sınıf ortamı olarak görmediği, bu durumun sosyal öğrenme ortamını ortadan kaldırdığını ve öğrencilerin sosyal etkileşimi kaybetmesinden dolayı insani değerlerde de azalma olduğunu düşündükleri tespit edilmiştir.

A Qualitative Research on Creating a Positive Classroom Culture in the Process of Distance Education in Higher Education

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the opinions of the instructors who conduct their classes in online classes by using online teaching applications on the creation of a positive classroom culture in the online environment and to develop suggestions for practitioners. The research was designed with a case study, one of the qualitative research models. The study group of the research was determined by criterion sampling, which is one of the purposive sampling methods that allows the selection and in-depth research of the people who are thought to be rich in information. The study group of the research consisted of 12 lecturers working at a private university in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the 2020-2021 academic year. In the research, data were collected through face-to-face interviews made through a semi-structured interview form. 309 minutes and 23 seconds of audio recording was analyzed. Nvivo R1 original program was used in the analysis of the data and thematic coding was done. When the findings obtained in the research were examined, it was determined that the instructors did not see the online teaching environments as a real classroom environment, that this situation eliminated the social learning environment and that there was a decrease in human values due to the loss of social interaction of the students.
